Incoming freshman point guard Marcus Watson has been released from his Letter of Intent at Wake Forest. The 5-11 Chicago native is a three-star prospect that signed with the Demon Deacons last November.
Watson is known as an uptempo style point guard who also held offers from both Illinois and Valparaiso along with Chicago State and Wisconsin Green-Bay prior to signing with then coach Danny Manning.
The move leaves new coach Steve Forbes with nine scholarship players and that is making the assumption that Virginia Tech transfer Isaiah Wilkins will be able to play immediately, though he is from the area so that may be a foregone conclusion.
