Per his twitter account, 2019 swing man Marcus Watson will be making his college decision on October 21st.
Watson, the #45 player in the country, is the #1 target of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for the 2019 recruiting cycle. Assistant Coach Julian Swartz has been developing the relationship since taking over the interim AC role early last season. Watson attends Buford High School just outside of Atlanta.
Marcus is a rim punishing 6’6 wing who is built like a freight train. He is a high energy player who likes to get going downhill towards the rim and is an above average rebounder for a perimeter player.
Landing Watson has become paramount to a Georgia Tech program that has struggled a bit in the 2019 cycle thus far. Inserting Watson into a lineup featuring Curtis Haywood II on the wing, a back court of Jose Alvarado and Mike Devoe and Texas Longhorns transfer center James Banks is a reason for Tech fans to be excited for the 2019-20 season.
Of course, that is the optimistic view. We will find out in a week if it will be a reality.
