JG3 chooses Syracuse

By Mychal Hunter

Tonight on Facebook Live Joe Girard III, the #196 recruit in the country according to 247sports.com, committed to Syracuse.

You should not let the ranking fool you. The Glen Falls, NY superstar owns the all-time scoring record in the state of NY, averaged 50 ppg as a junior last season and broke BYU legend Jimmer Fredette’s scoring record at Glen Falls.

JG3 chose Syracuse over a Notre Dame, Boston College, Duke, Penn State and Michigan. He only took two official visits, Syracuse and Boston College. When he announced on September 29th that he was ready to make a decision, the writing was on the wall.

Girard joins John Bol Ajok and Brycen Gooden in Boeheim’s 2019 haul, giving the Orange a 4 star and two 3 star prospects. Again, do not let that fool you, JG3 is a player who is VASTLY underrated by recruiting services. The Orange landed a good one here.

It should also be noted, he played AAU with Syracuse big man target Isaiah Stewart, who officially visited the Orange last weekend.
