OVERVIEW

I have said in previous posts that MB3 would be the player of the year, but I have been back and forth on that prediction in the last couple weeks. The more I think about it with all the talent Duke has on this roster I wonder if Bagley’s numbers are going to be all that huge, and I also wonder about Duval getting everyone involved given his score first type game.

Colson on the other hand will be the #1 option for Notre Dame and Matt Farrell is a proven point guard who has a good history with Bonzie. DPOY speaks for itself, Lammers could block four shots a game this year.

My dark horse candidate for POY is Bruce Brown. I think this kid is a top 10 NBA draft pick and will take this conference by storm this year. He simply does it all.

Kyle Guy was the first man out ahead Ja’Quan Newton and Gary Trent on the third team simply because Guy should be the primary option for a very good UVA team while I am not sure Newton and Trent will be consistent over the course of an entire season. You are certainly going to see nights where Newton and Trent lead their respective teams in scoring, but I also see a lot of 20 point games followed up by 7 point games. Jerome Robinson was in the mix for that last spot as well.

I included an All-Freshman 2nd team simply because there are so many good freshman.
